Train Taxi Game App Review
What is Train Taxi?
If you have ever played the old school game Snake, you already know what Train Taxi is essentially about. You maneuver a train around the level, picking up passengers as you go. The more passengers you get, the longer your train will become, and the higher the risk of you hitting your own tail. You have to collect all the passengers on the level without crashing into yourself to clear the stage.
Should you Get Train Taxi?
As stated, this game is pretty much just Snake but with a different aesthetic. So if you like Snake, you’ll definitely enjoy Train Taxi, seeing as how the gameplay is essentially identical. The game has a lot of different customization options, such as different trains to select, and many different stages. However, it’s worth noting that, like the original Snake, this gameplay is kind of all there is to it. If you aren’t one t enjoy repetition, then this will probably get pretty old pretty quick. Even though there are various stages and the difficulty will increase somewhat, the core mechanics of the game never change. So if diversity in gameplay is what you’re looking for, Train Taxi probably isn’t the best option. But if you just want a game that can take up a few minutes of your time every once in a while, then Train Taxi is sufficient for that purpose.
However, you should note that this game does follow the popular trend of playing as many ads as it can possibly get away with. After every level or two you’ll be subjected to a pretty lengthy ad that there’s no way to skip. For some people this is little more than a nuisance, but depending on how long it takes to clear a level, you could very well spend more time watching ads in this game than actually playing the game itself, which is certainly a major letdown. Still, if you enjoy the gameplay enough, thirty seconds of advertisements between levels isn’t utterly unacceptable, and if you really can’t stand them, you could pay to get rid of them.
-Simple and easy gameplay mechanics means anyone can play without trouble
-Based on the tried and true Snake game formula, which was quite popular
-A whole slew of ads with no easy way to get rid of them, sans weekly payments
Details: Age Range, OS, Etc.
The game is rated 12 and up, not because of the content of the game itself, but because of the ads that could potentially play between levels. As for OS, it requires iOS 9.0 or later or Android 4.1 and up. The game does include in app purchases, including the ability to remove ads.
