Sonic Dash Game App Review
What is Sonic Dash?
To be frank, Sonic Dash isn’t really much different any of the Sonic games that have been released in the past few years. It’s all about going fast on scenic routes that have obstacles and enemies, collecting rings as you try to reach the end. By swiping left and right you can move side to side, or you can jump over or slide under obstacles depending on what kind they are. If all else fails, you can use your attack to smack enemies out of your way. It’s pretty much just a standard Sonic the Hedgehog game, but for mobile devices.
Should you get Sonic Dash?
This may seem obvious, but if you’ve enjoyed traditional Sonic games in the past, chances are you’ll enjoy Sonic Dash too. After all, it follows the regular 3D Sonic formula without much deviation. Of course, there are some minor differences, but the overall experience should be familiar to Sonic fans.
Of course there is one major difference; this is an endless running game. As in, there is no end to the level you are playing. You go for as long as you can, with the stage only ending after you fail. That is a bit different from your usual Sonic game, but other than that, things are mostly the same.
The good news about this game is that it actually has quite a bit to do for players of all stripes, and by extension, many things to unlock. There are tons of stages that all have unique aesthetic, as well as special missions to complete and powerups. In doing all of this, you can unlock special stages, as well as other characters to play as, such as Tails and Knuckles. There are even boss battles for you to participate in, mixing up the gameplay from time to time.
The better news is that the game is pretty easy to enjoy without ever spending real money or wasting time watching a thousand ads. For the most part, you can progress with relative ease, so long as you are good at the game. Some players have complained about odd camera angles from time to time, but these types of problems can be fixed with patches or updates, and isn’t an integral problem with the app itself.
-Plenty of stages and characters
-Intuitive controls that are easy to use
-Occasional odd camera angles
