Solitaire App Review

What is Solitaire?

As you have probably already surmised, Solitaire Is an app that lets you play the classic card game Solitaire. In that sense there isn’t actually much to this game; you play Patience or Klondike solitaire, and that’s about it. It’s also more of a laidback instance of the game; you are encouraged to take your time and even half things like unlimited redoes, so even though there is a timer and a scoreboard you can use to compete against others, the whole setup is pretty lax. That is, after all, the nature of Solitaire.

Should you get Solitaire?

There isn’t too much to say about this; if you enjoy Solitaire, this app gives you a way to play it on your phone, no matter where you go or where you are. But then again, you wouldn’t even bother reading this review if you didn’t already know that you like Solitaire. The real question is, should you get this Solitaire app instead of the many others that are available out there?

Unfortunately, there isn’t really that much of a difference in the many Solitaire apps, since the core mechanics of each are pretty straightforward. This Solitaire app is pretty streamlined and ‘classic’, with little in the way of bells and whistles. There’s no special gimmicks or pointless addons, which some people may find preferable. Other may find it a little boring.

This isn’t to say that the game has no variety, as you can change the backgrounds and even your card style. The graphics are nice and you can play the game in both portrait and landscape style, or in a setup ideal for left-handed individuals. As far as the actual gameplay is concerned, it certainly isn’t difficult; you even get unlimited free hints.

Ultimately, this app is just a solid way of playing Solitaire, without added gimmicks or fancy additions. If you are just looking for a way to play this classic card game on your phone, then the app is perfect for you and there’s no reason to not give it a try. Just be aware that it doesn’t really offer anything else other than a streamlined Solitaire experience.
