Sand Balls Game App Review
What is Sand Balls?
The premise of this puzzle game is pretty straightforward. You are presented with dozens of balls, which are separated from a truck by obstacles, traps, and a whole lot of sand. All you have to do is draw your finger through the sand to create a path from the balls to the truck they need to be stored in, while avoiding obstacles and traps along the way, of course. There are many different stages with lots of different obstacles and traps to keep things interesting as you progress. There are also some customization options for the balls and the truck you have to get them to, but for the most part that’s all there is to this game.
Should you get Sand Balls?
Unlike a lot of one hit wonder popular games, Sand Balls does actually have some worthwhile content and game mechanics to it. It’s not ridiculously challenging, but not so mind-numbingly easy that you can’t enjoy yourself. It’s a nice balance of difficulty that will at least require you to stretch your mental muscles a little bit, and it has a cute aesthetic that a lot of people are bound to like. It also possesses enough variation in customization and level obstacles to keep the game from growing too repetitive and boring, so that’s a plus as well. The game is undoubtedly fun and has the potential to entertain, so where does it fall short?
The unfortunate reality is that it is filled to the brim with ads. This is to be expected in a game that is free to play, but the saturation is quite high. Every level, or two if you’re lucky, and you’ll be forced to sit through an ad that you can’t avoid or skip. For a lot of players, this breaks the flow of gameplay and is a serious nuisance. The ads themselves don’t detract from the solid gameplay, but they do infringe on the experience, and for some the high ad saturation is enough to spoil their enjoyment of the game. You can pay to get rid of them of course, but most people aren’t willing to do that. If you can put up with and ignore them, then the game itself is still enjoyable.
-Fun, unique gameplay that’s easy to pick up and learn
-Varied stages, obstacles, and customization options
-Very high ad saturation, forcing you to watch one after every level or two
Details: Age Range, OS, Etc.
The age range of this game is E for Everyone. However, you should note that such a rating likely doesn’t account for the content of the ads that are shown, though of course an E rated game isn’t going to have unacceptable ads. The requires OS is 4.1 and up for Android or 9.0 and up for Apple.
