Collect Cubes Game App Review

What is Collect Cubes?

The premise for collect cubes is extremely simple; in fact, you can probably guess what the main point of the game is, considering its name. The gist of it is this; some sort of structure, be it a tower, a rubber duck, or something in-between, crashes down into a sealed area and breaks into hundreds of tiny cubes. You take control of a U-shaped scooping device, and gallivant around the arena, gathering up all those cubes and returning them to a single point. Once you’ve collected them all, you win, simple as that. In short, this is a very simple and straightforward game, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Should you get Collect Cubes?

As expressed previously, this game is not very complicated, with little in the way of depth or strategy. So if you’re looking for something that will test your cognitive abilities or sharpen some mental skill, then no, Collect Cubes is probably not right for you. But simplicity in and of itself is not a bad thing. Sometimes you just need something that is fun and effortless to take your mind off stressful things, or to kill a few minutes of time when you have a break from your regular routine. If that’s the kind of game you are looking for, then Collect Cubes is right up your alley. There’s probably something to be said regarding its appeal for people that like to clean or organize things as well.

However, taking all of that into account, you should go into this game completely expecting it to be ‘shallow’ as it were. There’s not really a whole lot of content. You use the same shaped scoop in every level. All that really changes is what color the cubes are and how many of them you have to collect. That stays true no matter how far you make it into the game. That means the game really isn’t suitable for people that want an in-depth experience to sink hours of their life into. But if you just want something quick, easy, and amusing to take a few minutes every day, or something that will help you relax because it doesn’t require much effort or challenge, then Collect Cubes is a good option. You should probably also note that, this being a free to play game, there are many ads to contend with. Every few levels you’ll have to watch an ad, and as of right now you can’t just pay a few bucks to get rid of them.

-Easy and simple game play makes the game relaxing; anyone can play with little difficulty

-Lots of ads, with no way to remove or avoid them

-Very little variety in gameplay, continuous play would likely grow boring fast
